Twilight Dazzles

I breezed through Twilight for the second time. I hadn’t meant to so soon, probably not until closer to the movie, but I was hanging out with Sara Ellen in my parent’s room and a copy was there so I started. I put it down but I bought myself a copy last week and picked it up. Again, I got through it in a couple days. It just reads so fast and I can’t put it down. Though this time I had to take some time after reading the beginning of the hunt, when Alice *asks* to pick up Bella. Bella was so terrified for her new family and devastated at the idea of losing Edward.

It was so fun picking up on small things that are funny or stand out when you are already familiar. I was also trying to make a “major points” outline so I could keep ideas in mind to see how they are hit in the movie. I know it will be different, adaptations always are, and I’ve seen how lines are given in locations different from the book. I still think it will be awesome! Catherine Hardwicke loves it and I think she’ll do an awesome job. She’s so excited! I think Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will do a fantastic job as Bella and Edward. I just watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire so I could focus on Robert’s role as Cedric Diggory. He was so good and that made it even sadder when he’s killed. Before I was always focused on Harry’s pain.

While I love all the books in the saga, Twilight is my favorite. I am instantly in Bella’s shoes(though thankfully I’m not so clumsy) and the excitement of her and Edward connecting if infectious! The end is blissful but the beginning is amazing. You know, the incredible beginnings of a beautiful relationship. I haven’t decided if I’m going to keep reading, it just might continue to reel me in.

I read all four books in 5 days, and agree that the first is my favorite too. I kinda wish I had stopped there but knowing that there are more books in a series always makes me want them all. That is how I have over 70 Star Trek books LOL

I am excited for the movie too, and I really hope they do a movie for each book as well- just to finish it off I guess :) (and for a few choice sweet moments from each of the other books)

Have you had Tim read them?! I am trying to get Matt to read them but I think he is disinterested LOL

I do want to Tim to read Twilight. He’s in a non-fiction book right now, though he said it’s not very interesting. I’m fairly certain he won’t like them as much as I do, however I still want him to read it. Whenever he witnesses me reading, writing, talking about it (or seeing the shirts at Hot Topic) he rolls his eyes and laughs. He mentioned seeing the movie with me but I asked why I’d want to see it with someone who is going to make fun of me. At least not the first time. I need to have my girly fun first! ;-)
