Amazing
I hung from monkey bars at the beach today! It was so fun, next time I’ll take a picture. Except now I have those yucky red spots (broken capillary?) thing on my arms from too much pressure. Sara Ellen learned to go down the tunnel slide on her belly.
Sare Ellen has just been amazing me. She is already putting 3 - 5 words together. She said “what da mommy doing?” when I stepped on a wet stick to break it in half. She is jumping from different heights, with help if it’s high, and climbing on playground ladder-type equipment. Her memory and application of ideas and words is awesome. She is normal… she doesn’t always do what I ask. She has grown about 2 sizes in 6 months. At 18 months, in June, she was wearing 24 months clothes. At 24 months, she wears a 3 or 4T! She is pretty good about saying please and thank you. “Please” normally needs a reminder but she regularly says “a dig loo” (thank you) when she wants me to hand her something in sight. She loves to “talk” on a cell phone and “read” to herself. In both cases she says “a sha sha”. Sometimes she will laugh while on the phone. And oh, does she love her books. Most of the time she is gentle with regular books (non-board) but now and then, “rrriiip” goes a page or two.
I feel for families who can’t see eachother much. Sara Ellen’s relationships with her grandparents and aunts and uncles are wonderful. She loves them all dearly, gets excited to spend time with them. It sure makes it easy for Tim and I. I go to dance, go to the store, go out with Tim, and Sara Ellen is [usually] very happy to hang at home and play. There are times of course when she just wants Mommy but I’m so glad. What a fun little person she is.
