This Week’s Christmas Events
This is a really fun week coming up. A lot of Christmasy things, etc. going on.
Sunday (today) – We woke up after a nice night’s sleep and I made chocolate chip pancakes, a childhood favorite of Tim’s. We went home around noon and had lunch. Sara Ellen and I dressed for the wet weather and tromped around in puddles. Unfortunately Sara Ellen’s rainpant cuffs were not tight enough and her legs got quite wet. Tim and I went out for a date. We saw Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium at Harbour Center which was a fun movie with Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman. It was cold and even windier outside but we walked to TGI Fridays for what turned out to be a disappointing meal. We did have a good conversation about fulfilling dreams and doing something meaningful with our lives. Then we walked to Barnes and Noble. I ordered a chai latte but got something more like egg nog. Right now we are at home (Sara Ellen awake at 9:04 despite no nap) watching the dvd of this weekend’s nutcracker performance by Chespeake Ballet Company.
As for the rest of this week:
Monday – pick up The Golden Compass from the library so I can read and choose whether or not to watch the movie. I have heard questionable things. Sara Ellen enjoys the puzzle table, and looking through books and dvd’s. Sara Ellen is attending a Coast Guard Family Christmas Party with her grandparents (my father’s in the auxiliary) while Emily and I go to ballet.
Tuesday – Though we will be missing Michael, we pick out our tree at Homestead Gardens in the morning before Mom and Emily go to work.
Wednesday – Michael comes home from Messiah.
Thursday – Build a gingerbread house and make Christmas yummies
Friday – La Leche League daytime toddler meeting 10:00 – 12:00 Annapolis Library. Sara Ellen gets her first haircut from my stylist at JCPenney salon! We decorate our Christmas tree! We will also have dinner with the Altman’s (who we housesat for this weekend – we have our “own home” for a couple days).
Saturday – Drive to Richmond for a Christmas weekend with Tim’s mother and grandparents. We also get to see Sara and Nathan!
