It’s funny how babies/kids/people develop at their own pace.
Sara Ellen and I went to La Leche League this morning. There was a little girl there I’ve seen getting bigger, who just had her first birthday. The mom, Jessica, said Isabella had taken 14 steps at the most. Sara Ellen did that at 10 1/2 months. At 12 months, she was walking consistently. However, when Isabella eats solid food, she always feeds herself. This is different from Sara Ellen who sometimes feeds herself, usually with her fingers, and often I still help feed her.
this is so true — my mom and I were just remarking about a friend whose baby was still struggling to hold her head up at 9mos and today at 10 years she is as smart as can be. Every baby, (and as I recently learned) pregnancy, and delivery, is different.
