Favorite Baby Gear

Aside from car seats, which are certainly mandatory for vehicle excursions, in my opinion the best baby gear investments are for carrying your babying and your’s and baby’s away-from-home necessities.

While I loved using the Sling-E-Zee Hava sling for the first many months, our Ergo Baby Carrier has, and will continue to get the most use. For my back’s sake, the symmetry of the shoulder straps and waist belt, do the best job of distributing weight. I can go for the longest in this carrier and progress from front to back. They have zippered pockets and an open pocket which holds a hood when not in use.

The greatest bags out there, the bags I wanted before it was available and then before I knew it was available, are (you can likely guess by now) Ju-Ju-Be bags. I love organizing in general, having pockets, compartments, boxes, whatever I need to quickly get to something. I don’t always keep everything in it’s place but I do like having a place for everything. These bags have open pockets and zippered pockets in spades, and they have a range of beautiful (and washable and waterproof) prints and solids to choose from. I have basically replaced all the bags I have collected over the years, though no one else seems to want them. The Be All is the quintessential diaper bag, and a great one that I have recently acquired, but the PackaBe is the more versatile. It can go from backpack to messenger, was exactly what I wanted, and was the first I saw. It’s great for a normal day out (like to a Children’s Museum in the photo).
